Angry Birds name was their on every smartphone gamer’s lips last year. It had been rated number 1 game amongst all various platforms. It ruled the roosters on the Apple charts. It has contributed to the sales of iPhones and iPod touch. The game has really made it big and as it was only available in higher end phones gaming addicts who don’t own smart phones were feeling left out. So the creators of Angry Birds have launched the new PC version of the Angry Birds. Both MAC and Windows versions of the game released on the same date.
Angry Birds gameplay is just the same like the mobile and also the levels are just like how it is on the phone. The only difference between the two is the medium used to play the game. For those who are unaware of the game here is the plot in nutshell, as the title suggests the game consists of flock of angry birds. Bird’s motive is to get back their eggs from few evil pigs. The birds are thrown as a slingshot towards the pigs. The pigs try to protect themselves by hiding under materials like wood, stone and ice. The birds fall on the materials and it makes the material to collapse eventually killing the pigs. There are different types of birds available and all birds have an additional trait like the black bird can explode and blue bird can split into three birds and attack. The player can move-on to the next level as soon as the player kills all the pigs. The player gets points for unused birds and for the damage done to the structures.
The mobile version is a cake walk to play when compared to the PC version. The mobile version is easier to play and all you have to do is drag the birds with fingers and release them. The desktop version has to be played with a trackpad or a mouse. The pinch to zoom option was convenient but the PC users can use the mouse’s scroll button. Initially it might be not easy to play on the PC but after some time you will realize the advantage of playing the game. The wide screen allows the user to see the vast area of the scene.
The game scales well at higher resolutions and also on 1366×768 resolution display on Mac and 1920×1080 display on Windows. There are few objects which fail to scale like the grass and the background. The big screen gives the gamer to see the cute expressions of the characters. The desktop version is priced at $4.99 and this is just the starting price of the game very soon it will be hiked to $9.99. There is not much of a difference between the PC version and the mobile one. Hope the price of the game comes down then for sure the game will maintain its position as the top game.
